The Equipment

 

In the course of any investigation our team uses any combination of a multitude of tools, depending on that particular location. The list below indicates the equipment that we, as well as most investigative teams, would use during a typical investigation.

 

Digital Voice Recorders

A digital voice recorder is a device that records sounds that can be heard by the human ear onto a portable "hard drive". In paranormal investigations it has been found that these same recorders also at times record EVPs, or electric voice phenomenon. An EVP is a sound that is recorded that was not heard at the time of the recording by investigators.

 

Digital Video Recorders

During an investigation our team utilizes stationary DVR cameras with infrared illuminators. With these cameras we can effectively record video in areas with no light sources.

 

Closed Circuit Television Equipment

Using zero lux CCTV, we can effectively watch and record activity in multiple areas with no light sources available. Simply stated, that means that even if there are no team members present in that area, we can still monitor it for activity.

 

EMF Detectors

In theory, EMF, or electromagnetic frequencies, may be detectable in the presence of paranormal activity. Our team uses both standard cellular detectors and K2 meters to isolate EMF fields.

 

Other equipment, including digital thermometers and barometers, film cameras, or any other type of equipment that is able to give verifiable evidence may also be used. We do not use crystals, dowsing rods, or any other equipment that cannot possibly give us verifiable evidence either for or against paranormal activity.
